Xamarin Now Provide Extended Support to iOS App Developers
Have you looked into the latest
version of Xamarin? The namesake development platform is now having
additional support for iOS mobile app developers for sharing codes
across Apple OS, Android and Windows.
New Xamarin version 3 allows the
devs to use C# to create native apps for Android, iOS, Mac OS X and
Windows. Moreover, the most important feature in this respect is the
addition of Designer for iOS. Xamarin feels that the mobile app
developers of today will embrace the alternative to Apple's Xcode
Interface Builder. This will help them to stay in a single
environment for the entire development process.
Distinct Advantage of Designer
for iOS
Developers can build and modify iOS
6 and 7 and their so-called storyboard files. This tool helps to
assemble the different screens that make up an iOS application as
well as the navigation path embedded in them. The upgrade is not just
about iOS, but the ability to share code to multiple OS also improved
in the version 3.
The new feature Shared Projects lets
developers share code across iOS, Android, and Windows in either
Xamarin Studio or Visual Studio, whereas, Portable Class Libraries
offer new mechanism for building libraries. In order to facilitate
the mobile application development, developers can use
Xamarin. Forms.
What is that? – Well, that API
lets developers write user interfaces for iOS, Android and Windows
Phone apps. Developers here will be allowed to mix and match codes
with specific platform specific bits for complete control on each
platform.
In addition to above, the Xamarin
IDE Studio has also been updated with a new welcome screen, icons and
improved support for Retina displays. This C# version of Xamarin
allows developers build iOS and Android apps using the F# functional
programming language. Developers today can use their browser to try
F#, as it runs on Linux, Mac OS X, Android, iOS, Windows as well as
HTML5 and GPUs. Even the new acquisition of Visual Studio Division of
Clarius Consulting by Xamarin will allow the company to deliver an
improved and customized mobile app development experience.
